Looks like they are finally trying to create a “validated” patchset  that can be applied to your Solaris system without you the administrator ending up running around in headless chicken mode.

Yes, sometimes the old Patch Clusters would contain patches that would not work together or as on one occasion I have seen the SPARC Solaris 10 bootadm configuration get hosed for no apparent reason.

Come on Oracle/Sun time we had validated Service Packs.
